Community Acupuncture in Westminster, CO

Community acupuncture at Key Element happens in the Acu-Lounge, a shared room in our Westminster clinic with three zero gravity spa chairs. It is the more affordable way to get treated, which makes it the option for people who want acupuncture regularly rather than occasionally.

The Acu-Lounge at Key Element Acupuncture in Westminster, Colorado, with three zero gravity spa chairs set up for community acupuncture

What is community acupuncture?

Community acupuncture means being treated in a shared space rather than a private room. At Key Element that space is the Acu-Lounge, with three zero gravity spa chairs that take the pressure off your back, knees and neck. Because the room is shared, the cost is lower and you can come more often.

Conversation is kept to a minimum and in a hushed voice, since someone else will be in the room for part of your treatment. Bring ear buds if you would like to listen to your own music, a meditation, a podcast or an audiobook.

Is community acupuncture right for me?

The Acu-Lounge suits you if you want a tune up rather than a long conversation about your health, if cost is what stops you coming as often as you would like, if lying flat is uncomfortable, or if you want to be treated alongside a friend or partner. If you need time to talk something through, book a private room instead.

You want a tune up

You are established, you know what you come in for, and you do not need to discuss major health changes this visit. If you do, a private room is the better fit.

You want to come more often

Acupuncture works better with regularity, and the Acu-Lounge is the more affordable option. It is there so that cost is not the thing deciding how often you get treated.

Lying flat is uncomfortable

If you are pregnant or simply cannot get comfortable on your back, the zero gravity chairs let you stay upright. If you want a chair but also want privacy, call and we can book it that way.

You are bringing someone

A ladies day, a date night, or talking a nervous friend into their first treatment. In the Acu-Lounge you can be treated side by side rather than separately.

How does the Acu-Lounge work?

New patients book a private room first, so there is time and privacy to go through your health history and goals properly. Once you are established, you can book Acu-Lounge appointments online. Wear loose, comfortable clothes that allow access to your lower legs and arms.

01

Start in a private room

Your first visit is a private appointment with a full intake. After that, Acu-Lounge appointments can be booked online whenever they suit you.

02

Come dressed for it

Loose, comfortable clothes that roll up past the elbows and knees. Bring ear buds if you would rather listen to your own music or a meditation.

03

Melt into the chair

Settle into a zero gravity chair and let the treatment do its work. Most people find the chairs more comfortable than they expect.

The Acu-Lounge is a good fit for ongoing stress and anxiety treatment and for maintenance once pain has settled, since both benefit from turning up regularly.

Community acupuncture FAQ

Can I book community acupuncture as a new patient?

Not for your first visit. New patients book a private room so there is time and privacy to go through your health history and what you want to get out of treatment. After that first appointment you can book Acu-Lounge visits online.

Will other people be in the room?

Yes, for at least part of your treatment. There are three chairs in the Acu-Lounge. Conversation is kept to a minimum and in a hushed voice, and plenty of people bring ear buds and listen to their own music or a meditation.

Can I come to the Acu-Lounge while pregnant?

The zero gravity chairs are a good option if lying on your back is uncomfortable, because they let you stay upright. Tell Autumn you are pregnant before your treatment. If you would prefer a chair in a private room, call and we can book it that way.
